Here is what I did in this video:
PREPPING THE TRAEGER FOR FIRST USE
1. plug in
2. turn to smoke setting
3. make sure the auger is turning in the pellet box.
4. make sure the output in the bottom of circle is pushing air and the little metal rod is getting hot. (don’t touch it or you will get burned)
4. put heat cover, drip pan & grill back on. Pour pellets into pellet box. Fill to top if you have enough.
5. Close lid and change setting to high.
6. Run on high for 45 minutes. This seasons the smoker.

SMOKING THE PORK BUTT
1. put favore rub all over pork butt.
2. cover with plastic and place in refrigerator for at least 2-6 hours.
3. put smoker on at 225
4. put meat on grill and stick in your meat thermometer
5. close lid and cook until the thermometer reads 195F and don’t open the lid until it’s done.
6. Use clean heavy rubber gloves to remove meat from smoker once it’s at 195.
7. let rest for at least 30 minutes. Then shred/slice and serve. Enjoy
