Some additional information on using our patented pure fruit wood and fruit pellets on a gas grill. In my original video I was using a gas grill where the burners were set low in the bottom pan. Some of the newer gas grills have the burners set higher up in the pan virtually underneath the cooking grates. On these types of grills, simply use a smoke box, fill it with our wonderful smoking wood pellets, and set it right on top of the grates as seen in the video. Don’t forget your pan of water to preserve moisture. Set the smoke box on one side, and your meat on the other side of the grill, and from there, follow the directions in our original video. NOTE: If you happen to have one of the newer infrared grills, you can even get rid of the smoke box. An infrared grill has a stainless steel “plate” between the grates and the burners. This stainless steel plate provides even heat across a wide surface, much like a real grill. You can actually drop your smoking wood bbq pellets between the grates on one side of your grill so they are sitting right on the infrared stainless steel surface. This works perfectly for these new style grills.

Additionally, something I didn’t mention in the first video is wind. I noticed as I was smoking a meal one day, that even though I had my vents sealed, the wind was blowing through one end and forcing my smoke out the opposite vent. Keep an eye on your smoke – if you see it escaping check the wind, and turn your grill accordingly, facing into the breeze, instead of end to end with the breeze. That way you can contain the wonderful smoke and let it work its flavor miracle on your food.

If you haven’t tried Milt’s Gourmet BBQ pellets, you should. Our pellets are made with 100% pure fruit wood and 100% pure fruit and come in 5 wonderful flavors to provide the perfect accent to any meal. Choose from Rosemary Apricot and Garlic, Washington Wine Series in Cabernet or Syrah, Beer Hop, Super Apple and Super Grape. Our grilling pellets are blended with pure fruit extracts or material for incredible flavor. For instance, our Washington Wine Series is pure grapevine wood blended with the fermented grapes left over after making wine. We gather the material from the wineries in the Yakima Valley, dry it, and blend it with the pure grapevine wood in two flavors, Cabernet and Syrah. All of our BBQ pellets and smoking wood pellets are made this way. Pure fruit wood and pure fruit. Give them a try.
