You can’t get any easier than this whole smoked ham recipe.
We start with a whole ham which has already been smoked and is fully cooked. We are just re-warming it back in the smoker instead of an oven. No seasoning is needed for this whole ham, we just make a glaze to apply before this whole ham hits the smoker.
Whole Ham Pineapple Glaze Recipe
– 1 cup Brown Sugar
– 3 TBSP Pineapple Juice
– 3 TBSP Maraschino Cherry Juice
– 2 TBSP Honey Mustard
Just mix this glaze together and heat it in the microwave until it forms a loose paste. Then you will simply apply it to the whole ham.
Next it’s time to get your smoker fired up to 275 degrees. A little light smoke – especially form a fruit wood – is perfect to smoke while whole ham.
You will put your glazed whole ham on the smoker and let it cook until it hits around 125 – 130 degrees. It will take around 4 – 5 hours for this whole ham to reach that internal temp on the smoker.
Once your whole ham hits that internal, it’s time to apply the same glaze again and add your pineapples and cherries. You can use toothpicks to get your pineapples and cherries to stick to the outside of your whole ham.
Now the whole ham goes back on the smoker for amount 1 – 2 hours. You are looking for an internal temp of 145 – 150.
As soon as your whole ham hits that final, target internal temp. It’s time to take it inside for a quick rest.
This whole smoked ham makes for an amazing presentation. Plus it’s so juicy and delicious… your family will love it.
