Traeger grills are not only for cooking up a meat feast, try serving up this ultimate cheese sandwich while waiting for the low and slow to do it’s thing. This grilled sandwich is SO much better than just doing a toastie under the grill.
Pre-heat the grill to 230C, if you have already got something on ‘low and slow’ just move it to the coolest part for a few minutes until you have done the sandwiches; they only take about 10 minutes each side and if you are making a lot you can do them all at once. then reduce the temperature again.
We used thick slices of lovely artisan sourdough, pricey but well worth it. Onto a slice of bread place some grated Cheddar, torn pieces of Mozzarella and some crumbled Garstang Blue. Add some caramelised onion chutney and place on the second slice of bread. Generously butter both of the outside surfaces of the bread, use real butter not margarine as it imparts a much better flavour. Toast on each side for about 8 – 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and stringy.
